Halloween Witch Transformation: Trick or Treat
Paul found that out the hard way.
When he spotted the mysterious woman in the black dress and oversized witch’s hat standing beside a carved pumpkin, he assumed she was just another partygoer enjoying the autumn festivities. She was beautiful, mysterious, and wore a smile that suggested she knew a few secrets the rest of the world had yet to discover.
Feeling confident, Paul approached her.
“Trick or treat?” he asked with a grin.
The witch tilted her head, studying him as if he were a particularly interesting ingredient for one of her potions.
“Oh, definitely a treat,” she replied.
Before Paul could ask what she meant, she raised one elegant finger and whispered a few words in a language he couldn't understand.
A warm tingling sensation swept through his body. His voice caught in his throat, his balance shifted, and a strange feeling of lightness spread from his fingertips to his toes. He watched in disbelief as his hands became more delicate, his silhouette changed, and long, dark hair cascaded over his shoulders.
Seconds later, Paul stood transformed into a stunning young woman, dressed in an elegant black outfit that looked as though it had been conjured straight out of the witch's imagination.
The witch stepped back to admire her handiwork.
“There,” she said, smiling with unmistakable satisfaction. “Much better. Now you’re the treat.”
Paul opened his mouth to protest, but the sound that emerged was decidedly feminine. He looked down at himself, then at the witch, whose smile had grown even wider.
“Don't look so upset, dear. You asked for a treat, and I gave you one.”
“But I meant candy!” Paul exclaimed.
“Of course you did.” She winked. “And I suppose you could say this is a rather special kind of candy. A little sweeter, a little more memorable, and certainly harder to forget.”
With that, she picked up her pumpkin basket and strolled away, leaving Paul alone among the autumn leaves.
He watched her disappear into the shadows, then caught sight of his reflection in a nearby window.
The woman staring back at him was undeniably beautiful.
That, somehow, made the whole situation even more infuriating.
Paul had always thought Halloween was about costumes, candy, and harmless mischief. He now suspected that the rules were rather different when actual magic was involved.
And as the witch's laughter drifted back through the trees, he realized something else.
He had never asked what happened if someone wanted a refund.
