Promotion!

"You’ve got exactly twenty minutes to finish getting ready," Robert said, checking his watch with a hint of panic. "It takes twenty minutes to get to the restaurant, and the dinner meeting with my boss starts exactly at 7 PM."

"Don’t rush me!" Paul snapped, still standing in front of the mirror, clearly overwhelmed. "I have no idea what to wear over this. There are so many options... I never imagined your wife had this many dresses. Everything has to match — colors, shoes... This is a nightmare."

"Just put something on!" Robert muttered, pacing the room. "It’s a formal dinner. She usually wears a black dress, light makeup, and that’s it. Honestly, you look exactly like her."

"Dude, I am her!" Paul spun around dramatically, hands on his hips. "That crazy spell you cast turned me into her identical copy. And now my mind’s working like hers too! I’m even getting annoyed at you for rushing me like this. You know I can’t make decisions quickly!"

His tone was so eerily close to Robert’s wife that Robert blinked, unsettled.

"And let’s not forget — you’re the one who got me into this mess."

"I didn’t have a choice!" Robert threw his hands up. "I completely forgot about the dinner. Then she decides, last minute, to fly off to a funeral for some distant relative she barely knew. She knew how important tonight was — and she left me hanging, right when I need this promotion the most!"

Paul rolled his eyes and reached for another black dress on a hanger.

"Okay, okay... But seriously, this spell is messing with my head. For some reason, I’m finding you really attractive in that suit."

His voice dipped lower, smooth and a little sultry.

"Whoa, hey! No flirting!" Robert pointed at him, alarmed. "You remember the rules — any funny business, and you're stuck in that body permanently!"

"I know, I know..." Paul sighed. "Back to the plan. I’ll find that black dress you mentioned, do the light makeup thing, and play the part of your perfect wife. Let’s just get this over with — everything I’m wearing is digging into me."

He adjusted the strap of the lacy bra, wincing slightly.

"Why would you even choose that outfit underneath? You could’ve just put on a dress and some basic underwear. No one’s going to see it anyway. People only care about what’s on the outside." Robert said with a smirk.

"Oh please," Paul shot back, sass in full force. "You really think I’m the kind of woman who leaves the house looking half-done? I need to look fabulous for my husband… and future company director!"

And Paul was right. The dinner went off without a hitch. Robert’s boss left thoroughly impressed — convinced he was a responsible man, devoted to his family, and exactly the kind of person who should be leading the company.

Back home, Robert and Paul might have celebrated a little too enthusiastically.

The only thing left was figuring out how to explain to Robert’s real wife... why she now had a twin sister.
