The Wrong Closet: A Cursed Transformation and a Lingerie Mishap

Nathan returned to the bedroom wearing a daring white lace lingerie set, complete with a garter belt, matching lace gloves, and thigh-high stockings. He walked with exaggerated caution, still struggling to get used to his transformed body and the unfamiliar balance that came with it.

The moment he stepped through the doorway, Mark's jaw nearly hit the floor.

His friend froze, blinking several times as though his eyes were refusing to accept what they were seeing. Nathan, meanwhile, seemed entirely unaware of just how unexpected his appearance was.

“Dude... what on earth are you wearing?” Mark finally managed to stammer, pointing helplessly at the lace-trimmed bra and the elaborate straps of the garter belt.

Nathan folded his arms beneath his chest and let out an exasperated sigh. The delicate lace cuffs shifted as he moved, making him look considerably more composed than he actually felt.

“Well, you're the one who said you had some of your ex's old clothes and that I could borrow them while we figured out how to break this ridiculous curse my wife put on me!” Nathan snapped. His new voice was perfectly feminine, smooth and velvety, which somehow made his irritation even more obvious. “I grabbed the first thing I found!”

Mark covered his face with both hands. A nervous chuckle escaped between his fingers, quickly turning into a full-blown fit of laughter.

“Man, I said the other closet door!” he exclaimed, pointing toward the dark wooden wardrobe in the corner. “The hoodies and old sweatpants are behind that one. Those are the clothes she left here after we broke up!”

He paused, struggling to regain his composure.

“The door you opened? That's where she kept the things from our wedding.”

For a moment, Nathan said nothing.

Then he slowly turned toward the full-length mirror.

The reflection staring back at him was still a shock, even after everything that had happened. Long legs, unfamiliar curves, and a figure that seemed completely at odds with the man who remembered being a perfectly ordinary guy only days ago. He adjusted one of the bra straps, then glanced down at the intricate garter fastenings and the lace-topped stockings.

“Oh.”

His cheeks turned bright red.

“No wonder this fabric felt a little too breathable for ordinary pajamas.”

Mark made another unsuccessful attempt to stop laughing.

“You seriously didn't notice?”

“I was busy trying to figure out how many tiny clips a single human being could possibly be expected to fasten!” Nathan shot back. He gestured toward the garter belt as though it were a complicated piece of machinery designed by someone with a personal grudge against him.

He studied his reflection one last time, tugged at a glove, and straightened his shoulders with the air of a man determined to salvage what remained of his dignity.

“But you know what? I've already spent an eternity fastening all these little things, and I'm not taking them off now. Besides, it's not as if we're going anywhere.”

He turned toward Mark and pointed firmly at the pile of books on the bedside table.

“Let's find that spellbook before I catch a cold. If your ex's wardrobe has taught me anything, it's that your definition of comfortable clothing needs serious investigation.”

Mark finally managed to swallow his laughter.

“Fine,” he said, still grinning. “But next time, maybe ask before you get dressed.”

Nathan narrowed his eyes.

“Next time, maybe label your closets.”

For the first time that afternoon, Mark had no comeback.

The curse was still intact, the spellbook remained unopened, and Nathan had a sinking feeling that finding a cure was going to be considerably more complicated than either of them had imagined.
