"People Are Staring, Dad!" — The Most Awkward Body Swap Date Ever!
The atmosphere at the outdoor cafe table was thick with tension, despite the sunny afternoon. Two refreshing green juices sat untouched on the wooden surface, sweating in the heat. Arthur stared at the figure sitting across from him with a mix of panic, irritation, and a deep, existential dread.
"Why the long face, kiddo? I’m not to blame for this cosmic joke," the voice that came out was soft, sweet, and melodic—the perfect vocal cords of his girlfriend, Alexia. But the cadence, the gruff sigh, and the relaxed, almost slouching posture belonged, without a doubt, to his fifty-something-year-old father, old Roberto.
Thanks to an unexplainable phenomenon that morning, Roberto had woken up trapped in the body of Alexia. Sitting across from the young man was a breathtaking young woman. She displayed long, sleek black hair, flawless makeup, and large golden hoop earrings. But the way she held herself—chest puffed out, chin up—was pure Roberto.
Arthur took a deep breath, trying not to attract the attention of the people walking by on the cobblestone sidewalk. He whispered through gritted teeth, trying to avoid looking at the generous cleavage that belonged to his girlfriend but was currently being inhabited by his dad.
"Fine, Dad... The body swap was an accident. But did you really have to choose that specific outfit?!"
Roberto used his delicate arms, adorned with long, pink-manicured nails, to lean heavily against the round table. He was wearing an extremely tight, light-yellow ribbed minidress. The buttons down the front looked like they were fighting a losing battle against the fabric, and white lace trim framed a neckline that was dangerously low.
"Come on, Artie, I’ve always told you this girl doesn't know how to dress for the weather!" his father hit back, his feminine voice dropping into a dad-tone of authority. He tugged at the hem of the dress, which had ridden up his tanned thighs. "When I opened her wardrobe, it was either this or your mother's clothes. And let’s face it, your mother’s clothes wouldn't fit this... chassis. At least this yellow is bright. Plus, it breathes."
"Dad, you are wearing a dress that looks like lingerie! It’s ribbed knit! It’s clinging to everything! People are staring!" Arthur put his hands over his face, completely defeated. He could feel the eyes of a guy walking a dog nearby burning into them.
"Let them stare. I look good," Roberto said, flashing a confident, charming smile that definitely didn't match Alexia’s usual shy personality. He adjusted his posture, leaning forward in a way that made Arthur wince and look away immediately. "I just wanted to get out of the house to get some fresh air. You're the one who wanted to tag along, all panicked, just to make sure I didn't mess up."
Roberto picked up the green juice with a straw, taking a loud sip. He grimaced slightly. "By the way, this 'matcha' thing tastes like lawn clippings. Next time, I'm ordering a black coffee. Or a beer."
Arthur looked down at his own green juice, mentally praying that the effects of this swap would wear off before he lost the last bit of his sanity—or before the waiter came over to hit on his father.
