He Thought the Japanese Incense Would Make Him the Perfect Man

Harry was the typical gaijin otaku who practically breathed Japanese pop culture. He consumed everything: anime, manga, light novels, and pretty much any mysterious product from the internet as long as it had a few impressive-looking 漢字 (kanji) printed on the package.

He wasn't exactly fluent in Japanese, but after years of subtitles, fan translations, manga, and anime, Harry had developed what he considered a very respectable understanding of the language.

It was enough to get him into trouble, anyway.

One night, while browsing an obscure Japanese forum, an advertisement caught his attention.

At first glance, his subtitle-trained brain immediately recognized the characters:

男の完成
Otoko no Kansei

Harry was absolutely convinced it meant:

“Become the Perfect Man.”

The product was a mysterious incense, supposedly capable of transforming the user's appearance and presence into something extraordinary.

That was all Harry needed to hear.

He ordered it without hesitation, already imagining himself with the confidence, posture, and overwhelming presence of the unbeatable heroes from his favorite anime.

Well...

It didn't exactly work that way.

The problem was that Harry had been far too quick to translate the advertisement. He had focused on the words he recognized and completely ignored the context surrounding them.

The full message was actually promising:

“Become the perfect girl for the perfect man.”

Quite an important detail.

Unfortunately, Harry didn't discover that until it was far too late.

That night, he lit the incense before going to bed.

The effect was immediate.

By the next morning, Harry hadn't woken up overflowing with testosterone and protagonist energy.

He had woken up as the perfect waifu.

For several long seconds, Harry simply stared at the woman in the mirror.

Long, silky hair.

A flawless face.

Elegant features.

Curves that definitely hadn't been there the night before.

And an appearance so ridiculously perfect that she looked less like a real person and more like the heroine of the most expensive anime of the season.

Harry slowly touched his face.

The beautiful woman in the mirror did the same.

“Oh, you've got to be kidding me.”

Desperate for an explanation, he grabbed his phone and pointed the camera directly at the black incense box.

The translator processed the Japanese.

Harry's expression slowly changed.

There, beneath the glamorous product description, was a warning he had completely skipped.

In huge letters:

「女性専用。男性が使用した場合、性転換・完全」

Josei sen'yō. Dansei ga shiyō shita baai, Seitenkan Kanzen.

“For female use only. If used by a man: Complete Gender Transformation.”

Harry stared at the screen.

Then at the box.

Then at his reflection.

His autodidactic Japanese had finally betrayed him.

Not because the translation was wrong.

Because he had only translated the part he wanted to see.

“Right,” he muttered.

“Maybe I should have used a dictionary instead of watching twelve hundred episodes of anime.”

After the initial shock of seeing himself with long hair, feminine curves, and the face of the most beautiful character in the current anime season, something unexpected happened.

Harry stopped panicking.

His old otaku instincts kicked in.

He looked at himself again.

Then at his phone.

Then back at the mirror.

A slow smile appeared on his new face.

He had spent years consuming anime, manga, and online content.

He knew exactly how much attention a face like this could attract.

And now he had it.

Why waste it?

A streaming channel suddenly seemed like a perfectly reasonable idea.

After all, if life handed you a magical transformation, an anime-perfect body, and absolutely no way to reverse it...

you might as well monetize the plot twist.

Harry opened his laptop.

“Okay,” he said, looking at his reflection.

“Let's see how many subscribers a real-life waifu can get.”

And just like that, the former otaku began planning his new career.

He had no idea that becoming the perfect waifu was going to be the easy part.
