The Man Who Died to Become Her: A Revenge in High Heels
Fernando had spent his entire career serving the wealthy Grace family, only to become the scapegoat in an elaborate scheme involving embezzlement, luxury assets, and shell companies. With the help of a private investigator, he managed to secure part of his money in a hidden account and flee the country before the authorities could arrest him.
He eventually arrived in South Korea, determined to start over in the one place where he believed he could obtain the face, body, and identity he needed. He wasn't looking for a fresh start, though. He wanted revenge. Now, Paloma had arrived. And the revenge could finally begin.
There was just one problem: before she could destroy her enemy, she would have to make him fall in love with her.
Fortunately, Fernando knew exactly what kind of woman Mauricio Grace found irresistible. After years of serving the family, he knew his former employer's tastes better than anyone. Becoming that woman had taken a fortune, months of planning, and the skills of Seoul's most expensive cosmetic surgeons. But the result was worth every penny.
The afternoon breeze stirred Paloma's long, wavy brown hair as she posed with her hands on her hips outside the gates of the magnificent Grace estate. Her leopard-print, high-necked blouse contrasted perfectly with her high-waisted black pencil skirt, which hugged a silhouette meticulously sculpted by the finest surgeons money could buy.
Anyone looking at this stunning woman, with her air of power and mystery, would have seen a sophisticated beauty straight out of a European fashion magazine. No one would have recognized Fernando.
The humble, loyal accountant had disappeared on that operating table. Now, only Paloma remained.
"Those bastards," Paloma whispered, narrowing her eyes at the mansion's windows. "You thought you could lock me away in a cold cell while you enjoyed your ill-gotten fortune? Well, the game has changed. Now it's your turn to suffer."
Her plan was a masterpiece of poetic cruelty.
Mauricio Grace, the spoiled heir and the true mastermind behind the financial scheme that had nearly ruined Fernando's life, had one well-known weakness: powerful, mysterious women with feline elegance and an air of untouchable sophistication.
Fernando had spent years arranging Mauricio's schedule, organizing his dinners, and catering to his romantic whims. He knew the exact tone of voice that could disarm him, the perfume that caught his attention, and the kind of look that made him forget his own name.
Paloma had been designed to fit that weakness perfectly.
She walked confidently across the immaculate lawn, adjusting her posture as she approached the enormous stone fountain in the garden. She knew Mauricio usually enjoyed a glass of whiskey on the veranda at this time of day.
She didn't have to wait long.
The heir appeared in the distance, glass in hand, only to stop dead when he noticed the breathtaking stranger standing in his garden. For a moment, he simply stared, clearly trying to understand who she was and why he had never seen her before.
Paloma held his gaze. A mysterious, dangerous smile slowly formed on her perfectly shaped lips.
Mauricio's heart would beat faster today because of desire. Soon enough, it would break under the weight of desperation.
The trap was set. The fish was about to take the bait.
And Fernando, now Paloma, had no intention of showing mercy until he had taken back every cent he had lost and stripped the Grace dynasty of every last shred of pride.
Let the destruction begin.
