One Abduction, One Very Pink Transformation
Until that Tuesday.
There was no classic flying saucer, no little green men. There was only a high-pitched hum, a flash of neon light that blinded him, and an overwhelming sensation of weightlessness. Geofrey felt himself being pulled upward, his body dissolving into pure energy before he could even scream.
Time stopped making sense. Hours, days, or perhaps mere minutes blurred together in a haze of scientific tests, incomprehensible whispers, and the disturbing feeling that his very biology was being rewritten like a computer program.
When gravity finally returned him to reality, he collapsed to his knees on the cold concrete floor of his own rooftop terrace.
His head was spinning. The whiskey was gone, replaced by an intergalactic hangover that sent his thoughts crashing into one another. He tried to stand, gripping the glass railing for support, but something felt profoundly wrong. His body's center of gravity had shifted. His legs seemed lighter, and the night breeze brushed against his skin in a way he had never experienced before.
Then he looked down.
The electric shock of disbelief instantly cleared the fog in his mind.
Where his tailored trousers and dress shirt should have been, there was a tiny pink tulle dress, decorated with fluffy, delicate feathers around the neckline and hem. His hands and arms, now noticeably slimmer and more delicate, were covered by long, metallic pink latex gloves that reached all the way to his upper arms.
Stunned, he raised one gloved hand to his face. His fingertips brushed dramatically long eyelashes and full lips coated in glossy pink lipstick. His blond hair had grown long and wavy, blowing gently in the evening breeze.
Geofrey was no longer Geofrey. The aliens had returned him as a perfectly polished, glamorous socialite, ready for a turn-of-the-millennium pop party.
Panic began to creep in as he stared at his reflection in the glass. His mind was still struggling to process the abduction, but one question kept repeating itself in an endless loop.
How was he supposed to explain this?
How could he justify his appearance to the fiancée expecting to see him the following day? What would he say at the eight o'clock shareholders' meeting?
Sorry I'm late. I was abducted by beings from another galaxy who decided I'd look better in pink feathers?
Nobody would believe him. They would have him committed before he could finish the sentence.
A soft chime from the private elevator announced that someone was on the way up to the penthouse.
Geofrey froze.
There was no time to figure out his new voice, understand the unfamiliar contours of his body, or even determine how he was supposed to walk in the heels he now wore. He could only stare at the terrace door, his long pink-gloved arms raised in a gesture that somehow managed to combine absolute desperation with unexpected flair.
The abduction was over.
But as the elevator doors began to open, Geofrey realized that surviving the aliens might have been the easy part.
His real test was about to begin.
