The CEO’s Worst Commute
The sudden and inexplicable transformation had sent them both into a panic.
In a desperate phone call, they had reached an uneasy agreement. While the real Anna was somewhere across the city, struggling to figure out how to properly tie his expensive Italian necktie, Jason was trying to navigate her life from the inside.
They would simply switch lives for a while.
“Just until we figure out how to reverse this,” Anna had said.
The biggest problem came with the last text message Jason received before his phone died.
“My husband will pick you up at the final station. Don’t mess this up.”
Jason swallowed hard.
He adjusted the handbag resting on his arm, still feeling strangely awkward about every little movement. He had spent his entire adult life as one of the most sought-after bachelors in the business world. Commitment had never been part of his plans.
Now he was about to play the role of a devoted wife.
How was he supposed to look at a complete stranger with affection?
How would he respond when that man called him by a loving nickname?
And what if he noticed something was wrong?
The train began to slow down.
A mechanical voice announced the next station.
Jason closed his eyes for a moment and took a deep breath.
He had handled hostile takeovers, billion-dollar negotiations, angry investors, and boardroom crises without blinking.
But none of those had prepared him for what was waiting on the platform.
His biggest meeting of all was about to begin.
And this time, Jason had no idea what the other side was expecting from him.
