He Wanted Into the Elite Club. They Changed Him First
The satin fabric hugged his newly curving figure with almost cruel precision, while the tight corset shaped his waist and seemed determined to steal what little air he had left. Surrounded by the luxurious décor of the mansion, he felt completely exposed.
“Man, you promised me it was just going to be an elegant suit and an IQ test! Are you seriously telling me this little rite of passage at an elite party is what it takes to get me into their exclusive club?” Paul hissed.
Even his voice betrayed him. It came out soft and velvety, nothing like the voice he was used to hearing. Irritated, he adjusted the fallen strap of his off-the-shoulder dress.
“You tricked me, Lesley!”
Lesley simply smiled, without the slightest hint of remorse, admiring the astonishing result of the transformation.
Paul looked absolutely stunning in those impossibly high heels, which seemed to make his legs look even longer.
“Yes, I left out a few details. I admit it,” Lesley replied calmly. “But according to what I've been told, this is the easiest and fastest way in. Nobody gets into that inner circle without paying a price, Paul. And your new look is the perfect passport. They simply can't resist something unexpected.”
Paul took a deep breath, trying to slow his racing heartbeat.
He was still furious at being deceived by Lesley, but one glance at the enormous mansion brought back the ambition that had made him accept the challenge in the first place.
He was already there.
He was already wearing the dress, already balancing on those heels, and already far too invested to simply walk away.
After putting himself through all this, he wasn't going home empty-handed.
Paul lifted his chin, his wounded pride turning into something much more dangerous. He swept his long dark hair back over his shoulders.
If this was the ridiculous game they wanted him to play, then he was going to play it to win.
“But what happens now?” he asked. “Since you dragged me into this, what exactly am I supposed to do?”
Lesley stepped closer, fascinated by the strange combination of irritation and magnetic confidence Paul now carried.
Then he lowered his voice.
“It’s simple. Swallow your pride and use that new charm of yours to win one of them over.”
Paul raised an eyebrow.
“One of them?”
Lesley smiled.
“Let them fight for your attention.”
And suddenly, Paul realized that getting into the club might be only the beginning.
