Secret affairs

The flash lasted only a second.

When Larry's vision returned, he immediately knew something was terribly wrong.

The hotel room wasn't his.

Neither was the body.

Long chestnut hair spilled over his shoulders, a delicate perfume lingered on his skin, and when he looked down, he found himself wearing an elaborate set of red lingerie that felt disturbingly familiar.

Even worse, a massive bouquet of red roses rested beside the bathtub.

"Great... just great..."

The voice that escaped his lips was soft, melodic, and unmistakably feminine.

His wife's.

Panic set in.

It was still impossible to accept what he was seeing.

His reflection stared back with the face of the woman he'd been married to for eight years.

"Alright... priority number one: call home. If she's in my body, we'll figure out what happened. Priority number two: find out what's really going on with this so-called business trip. And priority number three..."

His eyes drifted back to the bouquet.

"...figure out who the hell sent these flowers."

Just then, a phone resting on the bathroom counter buzzed with a new message.

It was his wife's phone.

The screen lit up.

"Ready for our unforgettable evening, my love? I hope you liked the roses."

Larry froze.

His heart skipped a beat.

"Our"...?

For a split second, his mind jumped to the worst possible conclusion.

Then another thought surfaced.

When was the last time I bought her flowers?

He had to think.

Far too long.

In fact... he couldn't remember.

Their marriage had slowly dissolved into routine years ago. Work, bills, meetings, quiet dinners, and automatic goodnights. Special occasions were forgotten, conversations had become brief text messages, and even "I love you" had started sounding more like polite habit than genuine affection.

Holding the bouquet in his arms, Larry let out a long sigh.

"Wait..."

He looked around the room again.

The rose petals.

The prepared bathtub.

The romantic hotel suite.

Then he glanced down at the carefully chosen outfit he was wearing.

His expression slowly changed.

"No..."

With trembling fingers, he opened the hotel's reservation confirmation on the phone.

It didn't say Business Dinner.

It simply read:

"Second Honeymoon."

Larry closed his eyes.

Silence.

A few seconds passed before he let his head fall back with a defeated groan.

"I spent the last three minutes convinced my wife was not having an affair..."

He looked at his reflection, dressed in elegant red lingerie.

"...and it turns out the only idiot in this story was me."

At that exact moment, three knocks echoed from the hotel room door.

Knock. Knock. Knock.
