A Glitch in the System: Identity, Choice, and the Body Redesign Experiment

“Don’t look at me like that,” he said, raising his hands in a mix of defense and guilt. “I had no idea the body redesign machine was still experimental—let alone that it would malfunction right when it was your turn to use it.”

He paced the room, clearly trying to justify himself.

“Besides, I was smart about it. I switched to a tall, muscular guy—strong build, no risks. You’re the one who insisted on testing whether the machine could also alter gender.”

He stopped in front of you, his expression suddenly serious.

“And now here we are. The machine is fried, the process is irreversible, and the choice is yours. We can turn the device over to the authorities and explain everything… or you can face this new role, this new body, and see where it takes you.”

He hesitated, lowering his voice.

“Either way, there’s no going back.”
