The Wrong Tape

Gabriel had always struggled with his weight. After trying everything — miracle diets, intense workouts, expensive supplements — he finally gave in to a suggestion from an obscure forum: “Hypnosis tapes to reprogram your desire to lose weight.” Skeptical but desperate, he bought a kit called “New Body, New Mind.”

On the first night, he lay down with his headphones on and let the soft voice from the recording guide him. “You are strong… you are disciplined… you are a determined woman…” — he chuckled. “Must be a mistake.”

But he kept going. After all, he was a man. Just ignore the “woman” part, and it would work fine. And at first, it did: he started avoiding sweets, waking up early for walks, and even enjoyed the new energy he was feeling.

But then came the details. He began to feel drawn to tighter, more colorful workout clothes. Thought it was just a new sense of vanity. Then he bought a lilac set with feminine stripes and started enjoying how he looked in the mirror. He felt... right.

The tape would say: “You love taking care of yourself. You adore your body. You are beautiful.”
And something inside responded: Yes. Yes, I am.

Gabriel became Gabi. At first, only in her mind. Then, in lifestyle. And finally, in body.
She began putting on makeup before the gym, wearing pearl-tipped earbuds, taking selfies with her protein shake in hand.

One day, kneeling on the couch in a pale pink workout set, sculpted body glowing, soft smile on her lips and music playing in her ears, she realized: the tape hadn’t been wrong.
It had simply revealed what had been hidden.

And strangely enough… she was happy.
