Rediscovering

Rachel walked into the bedroom and paused at the door, surprised. Standing in front of the mirror, Brian — now trapped in her body — was wearing a seafoam green lingerie set she barely remembered owning.

He turned slowly, a little embarrassed but with a soft smile on his face.
“I… found this in your drawer,” he said, adjusting the strap of the bra. “It’s been a while since I saw you wearing it. I always thought this color looked amazing on you.”

Rachel crossed her arms, tilting her head with a half-smile. “Seriously? I’d totally forgotten about it.”

Brian nodded. “It was during that trip to Oregon… remember? Before life got so busy. Before everything became work, bills, and awkward silence over dinner.”

She took a few steps closer, her expression softening. “Yeah. I think you’re right.”

He glanced at his reflection, touching the delicate lace at the waist. “I know this whole body-swap thing sounds insane. But maybe… maybe it’s an opportunity. We’ve been going through the motions for so long. Being in your body, I see things from a new perspective — literally. And I don’t know, I’m starting to feel that spark again. The urge to try things, to feel alive.”

Rachel sat down on the edge of the bed, watching him more intently. “You think this could actually help us?”

“I think it could be a fresh start. A chance to reconnect. We never would’ve hit pause like this if it hadn’t happened. But now, with everything upside down, maybe we can find something new. Together.” He paused, meeting her gaze. “Even if it’s in a totally different way.”

She laughed softly — the kind of laugh that comes when something strange starts to feel real. “You definitely caught me off guard, Brian.”
